At Zumo, we’re always excited to hear more about our users’ stories. We caught up with Neil and Oscar, winners of our most recent ETH giveaway, to find out what brought them into crypto – and what they’ll do with their winnings!
Neil: I’m from Surrey (and half Scottish, hence the kilt worn this week!) and work as an airline pilot (alas not much flying at the moment!). I invested a wee bit in the first “gold rush” back in 2018.
Oscar: I’m a 19 year old student, doing my first year of molecular biology at university in Sweden. It was one of my closest friends who introduced me to crypto, and I’ve been interested ever since.
Neil: I first bought in 2018, and then I thought I’d sit on it for a while and see how it went. I became more active last year, but foolishly sold out of most of my holdings just before the crypto markets went ballistic! I needed the money for other things, but if only I’d sat on my hands a few more weeks!
Oscar: My journey in crypto started in February of this year when I invested in Ethereum which, as everyone knows, has been going up and down throughout Q1 and Q2. The lesson I’ve learned from investing in crypto is that you have to be careful about how much you invest and what you invest in. You need to do your own research and know what you’re investing in. I’ve also learned that you can lose a lot of money just overnight but that you should stay calm as it can go up just as much the day after. I’m not making any hasty moves.
Neil: I heard about Zumo when you were crowdfunding on Seedrs. I thought I’d take a look at the app and wanted to give it a try as you’re a British company.
Oscar: I’ve been a Zumo user since May and it was thanks to this giveaway that I was introduced to the app. It’s a very simple app and therefore very easy to use. I like it.
Neil: We can finally attend sports events again, which are a passion of mine, so I’ll put it towards some Euros football tickets or the cricket!
Oscar: I’m sure that I will hold my ETH at least until the end of the year. But we’ll see, and then I will split it with my friend that I entered this giveaway with.
Oscar: Yes, my message would be that you should never invest in a cryptocurrency you don’t believe in.
PS If you’d like to win yourself, you’re still in with a chance! Follow our social media channels for details of a brand new giveaway – and a brand new in-app cryptocurrency – coming your way soon.
