Zumo monthly update: what’s new in July?
by Daniel Taylor April 2023

Refer & Share 2.0, more new faces and a fresh out-of-home advertising campaign.

As the summer of sport transitions into a hybrid 2021 Edinburgh fringe festival, activity continues apace at Zumo HQ, with some really big campaigns going live over the course of the month. Read on for a flavour of what we’ve been up to in the month of July!

Zumo goes big with Refer & Share 2.0

The eagle-eyed among you may have spotted the digital Zumo banners adorning Princes Street’s bus stops and the nearby train station.

It’s all part of the new Zumo referral campaign that will see us share some £100,000 of crypto rewards with our Zumo users as part of our renewed Refer & Share campaign. The goal: get as many people as possible comfortable with crypto through the Zumo app.

Read all about it on our refer & share page.

Zumo 3.2.1 – go!

Not to be outdone, the latest version of the Zumo app also brings its own features to make Zumers’ lives that little bit easier with new live chat and push notification functionality. Find out more, complete with video demo snippets, in our blog post here.

In the news

Crypto keeps on making the headlines – and Zumo is busy spreading the word. Features this month included interview profiles with TechRoundThe National and thenews.uk, opinion pieces on regulation and financial inclusion, and a contribution from our commercial director Eddie on the case for institutional crypto adoption.

Also, many congratulations to our marketing director Amelie, who picked up the ‘Rising Star’ award at the 2021 UK FinTech Awards. Well done Amelie!

New faces

The Zumo team continues to grow, and most recently we’ve been delighted to welcome a new designer to the marketing team, as well as additional assistance for Zumo customer support. Compliance also continues to be an area of focus, and on that note it’s our pleasure to welcome Michael Johnson as our new Compliance Manager. Michael is a highly capable and experienced compliance professional with over 25 years’ experience in financial services, and will be overseeing Zumo’s ongoing compliance activity.

Happy Birthday Ethereum!

Finally, what a great year it’s been for Ethereum. As Ethereum passes its 6th birthday, CTO Tim Šabanov reflects on what made Ethereum so popular in the first place, and what might be next for the world number 2 crypto, in our blog piece here. Or if you prefer to listen, take a listen to our recent podcast episode with Tim here.

In the meantime, we’ll see you back here next month for the next installment of Zumo news!
