At Zumo, we feel as passionately about protecting our planet as we do about digital assets. We are proud to support WasteAid – a young, dynamic and independent charity based in the UK, but with global reach. WasteAid works with local communities in some of the world’s poorest places to implement waste management and recycling programmes, improve people’s health and livelihoods, tackle climate change and prevent plastic from entering our oceans.

Our past challenges
In 2025, we set ourselves a challenge rooted in what matters most: wellbeing, connection, and impact.
Together, we raised
In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Week (12–18 May) and our ongoing commitment to sustainability, the Zumo team embarked on a virtual wellness journey from Edinburgh to The Gambia, where WasteAid is currently delivering community-led waste and recycling projects.
Rather than counting miles, we logged:
– the equivalent time it would take to walk to Gambia between 7th April and 18th May 2025.

virtual journey from Edinburgh to South Africa, with pit stops at WasteAid project locations across Africa. You may have spotted us out and about in Edinburgh raising awareness of the incredible work conducted by WasteAid.
In 2021, the Zumo team got together for a fundraising and awareness walk, which took place in Edinburgh.
We completed a 16.5-mile loop starting in vibrant Stockbridge and ending in our home base of Leith. It was a truly great day engaging with people around Edinburgh, which was topped by performances from our Zumo Mascots! We had set ourselves a target of raising
in support of WasteAid, and were delighted to exceed this.
